Description:

This course is intended for students who are planning a career in health care management and/or health care policy studies. It covers the language of statistics and the standard techniques of collecting, summarizing, presenting, analyzing, and interpreting data, as well as use of a statistical software. It provides an introduction to statistical reasoning with and overview of selected descriptive and inferential statistical methods and concepts commonly used in the fields of health policy and management. Focus is on application of statistical analysis and interpretation of results rather than on calculations. Use of statistical software to analyze data is included.
